HelpUsing MIX

Import audio and the sample rate

MIX imports WAV and AIFF files. The first import sets the project's sample rate.

MIX imports WAV and AIFF files. One file becomes one track, and one track gets one channel strip. The files are copied into the project’s Audio/ folder.

One sample rate per project

The desk runs at one rate, and the first import sets it.

  • A file below the rate is raised without asking.
  • A file above the rate is the one case MIX asks about. Coming down means giving up the top of its treble, so you choose whether to convert it or leave it out.

The project’s rate is written in the track list’s footer. That is also the one place it can be changed afterwards. Changing it rewrites every file.

Large projects

MIX plays audio straight off the disk, so a project of 130 tracks opens as fast as one of ten.
